Payload would be attached to the Better Space Elevator via a simple base clamped to and easily removed from the tether, this simple attachment method will make for a more versatile and adaptable system, able to carry large and ungainly objects with ease. Conversely the single strand tether climber would have many restrictions on the size shape and placement of cargo items. Hanging cargo below the single strand tether climber would be problematic since the solar cell arrays which are set to receive the beamed power would be beneath or extending to the side of the climber and there would be danger of cargo damaging them, or simply obstructing the power beam causing a loss of efficiency.
